Types of Membership

False Creek Yacht Club offers a variety of memberships to suit our well-balanced club. All members of False Creek Yacht Club have access to the club's water sports rentals, free parking, wifi, showers and laundry facilities.

Active membership is our premier membership tier and affords all privileges of every membership level, in addition to voting, holding a board position and an opportunity for full time moorage in our False Creek Marina. Permanent moorage is assigned as it becomes available and is determined via seniority and boat size.

Active Membership Benefits:

  • Opportunity for Moorage
    • FCYC has moorage with a variable wait list depending on size of the boat. Typically boats in the 28-35’ range have been accommodated fairly quickly, 2-3 years is the standard expectation with some larger sizes taking a bit longer. (NOTE: As with all yacht clubs in the Vancouver area, a wait list is established and is based on seniority and overall dimensions of the craft. Guaranteed promises of moorage cannot be made; rather reliance on history suggests that movement through the wait lists is possible. In all instances, a conversation about the wait list with the existing Rear Commodore Marina is advised, given that he/she is most familiar with current movement and opportunities.)
  • Outstation privileges at Snug Cove on Bowen Island
  • Up to $500 reimbursement for transient moorage at approved coastal marinas
  • Reciprocal privileges at hundreds of yacht clubs around the world
  • Free annual boat safety inspection by coast guard
  • Access to temporary moorage and subleasing

Annual Investment: $818 Dues and $525 Assessment

A Social Membership is perfect for land dwellers who want to “go to the Club” and bring their friends. No boats are required for Social Membership, as Seniority and Moorage privileges (Outstations, Reciprocals etc.) are not included within this class.

Social Membership Benefits:

  • Access to the award-winning False Creek Yacht Clubhouse. Drop in for a meal paired with a spectacular view weeknights Wednesday to Friday.
  • Special member pricing for beer and wine
  • Full menu provided by EdgeCeptional Catering, our in-house chef during Club Membership nights.
  • Exclusive events for member networking, like Scotch and Wine tasting, Potluck Dinners, Pub Nights for catching the game on big screen, Formal Galas, Summer Sun boat charity events, and much more.
  • Discounted facility rentals for business functions. Host your client meetings or employee appreciation events at our lounge.
  • Smaller business or family dinners for special moderately priced events where status of private club membership overlooking a world-class view is deemed important.
  • Free parking for members and guests

Annual Investment: $300 Dues and $525 Assessment

Cruising Membership is perfect for boat owners who would like to enjoy all the privileges of Active Membership, with the exception of permanent moorage at our Marina. This type of membership is best suited for boaters who have permanent moorage at another marina with no intention of moving his/her vessel to the FCYC marina but would enjoy the use of our Clubhouse, Outstation, Cruising Stations and Reciprocals.

Cruising Membership includes all benefits of an Active Membership except voting, downtown moorage (wait list) and the opportunity to hold a board position.

The interest was shown in early 1981 plus a mail-out to boaters and landlubbers, resulted in the birth of FCYC. The Clubhouse opened in December 1989.
