How do I become a member?

  • Start by requesting an application. Fill out the application form and pay the initiation fee to lock in your seniority date & time. This is critical for Active members
  • After officially being approved by the board, you will receive your prorated invoice for annual membership costs.

When can I access the marina and clubhouse?

  • You have 24-hour access to the marina
  • Clubhouse is open to members to come in for a business meeting, work on their own, or just enjoy a cup of coffee from M-F between 11:00AM - 4:30PM. Check with the office first.

How long have you been around for?

  • It all began when some boaters, gathered at the Marina near the old Connaught Bridge, decided to form a Yacht Club. The idea was for a new Club near the city heart which, besides traditional boating activities, would offer an exciting social and recreational environment unique in the Downtown/False Creek core. The interest was shown in early 1981 plus a mail-out to boaters and landlubbers, resulted in the birth of FCYC. The Clubhouse opened in December 1989.

Do you own your marinas?

  • As at September 30, 2016, the Club has three moorage leases
  • Lot 143 Provincial lease which covers 34 berths (C-E) of the marina operation expires April 2037.
  • Lot 161 Provincial lease which covers 9 berth (F-G) of the marina operation expires November 20, 2051.
  • Concord Pacific Group Inc. lease which covers 66 berths of the marina operation that is renewed yearly.

What is an assessment?

  • The assessment is a pre-paid credit to spend on food and drinks in the lounge. It is billed at the beginning of the membership year (Oct 1st).
  • There is a minimum spend of a quarter of your assessment each quarter.

What amenities do you have?

  • Gated access to the marina
  • Free parking—certain restrictions apply
  • Licensed clubhouse dinner service
  • Washroom, shower, laundry, and garbage facilities
  • 30A and some 50A circuits on the dock
  • WIFI
  • Free use of SUPS, Kayaks for club members
  • On-site wharfinger

How does parking work?

  • Our main lot is located by the entrance to the dock ramps and a smaller one by the washroom trailers. All parking spots belonging to FCYC are marked
  • Active members can park up to 8 consecutive nights while cruising. An extra day pass for guests is included.
  • Max GVW 10,000lbs

What is an outstation and how does it work?

  • Located at Union SteamShip Marina on Bowen Island
  • 240’ ft of dockspace for Active & Cruising members
  • $5/night charge for each 30A circuit (must be paid to USSC marina when you sign in)
  • First come, first serve
  • Rafting allowed
  • Must show membership card and fly burgee

What are the cruising Stations and how do they work?

  • We have 10 approved cruising stations along the BC Coast. Active members can receive a reimbursement of up to $500 currently on moorage fees; Cruising members up to $250. (Prorated for new members), subject to annual budget and review.

Can I rent the lounge for special events?

  • Yes, Members receive a 25% discount on room rentals during non-peak months (Oct-April)
  • During regular lounge nights, reservations are recommended for over 6 guests
  • Members can access the Club during the day for business/social meetings for no fee
